Ukrzaliznytsia continues its initiative to create a barrier-free and inclusive space at railway stations for all passengers, without exception.
On December 1, a pilot project was launched at Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi and Lviv railway stations to ensure full communication between passengers with hearing impairments and station staff. Tablets with built-in specialized Connect PRO software are placed in the assistance and help zones, providing 24/7 access to Ukrainian sign language interpreters.
The licensed Connect Pro solution provides deaf passengers with free access to effective communication in their native language - sign language. In the event of an appeal from deaf people who speak sign language, employees of Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi and Lviv railway stations will be able to instantly call an interpreter via video link to ensure comfortable communication without psychological and communication barriers.
In 2024, if the pilot project is successfully implemented, it is planned to expand it to the stations with the highest passenger traffic to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness, in particular for deaf people, at all stages of the journey.
