We continue our tour through autumn Lviv.
In cooperation with the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity", the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Lviv State University of Life Safety, adult Lviv residents with hearing impairments and students of the Maria Pokrova School with their teachers attended an interactive tour of the university.
At the entrance, they were cordially greeted and accompanied by Andrii Tsyupryk, Head of the Department of Social Work of Management and Social Sciences, and Dmytro Bazaliev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Civil Defense and Mine Action, Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Defense Service.
First, the participants were introduced to mine danger. They learned what different ammunition, mines, grenades, bombs, mine detectors, and javelins look like, as well as the consequences of their use and safety rules.

Next, they met Andriy Kharchuk, associate professor of the Department of Emergency Response at the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the LSULS. He told them about the history of the majestic old building of the university, the history of the educational institution itself and how the cadets and university staff restored and rebuilt the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The participants also visited the university grounds, where they saw the Alumni Alley, a monument to the heroes-liquidators of the Chornobyl disaster and a memorial plaque in honor of those who died during the mission.

The next stop was the fire and rescue training unit.
Under the guidance of the teacher-methodologist, the head of the RPFC guard, Major of the Civil Defense Service Marian Ivaniv, the participants learned about fire safety rules and how to tame the flames. Marian Ivaniv also showed them a fire truck, an emergency rescue vehicle, a first aid vehicle and an ambulance.
