Quick call for rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine

War and natural disasters pose a serious threat to all Ukrainians, but people with hearing impairments are the most vulnerable. When communication is difficult, getting help may be impossible.

To solve this problem, the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity" together with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have joined forces to implement a vital project that will help deaf Ukrainians receive timely assistance in an emergency.

Now, anyone with a hearing impairment who has suffered as a result of military operations or natural disasters or who is simply in danger can seek help from the SOS for free using the SL Translator mobile application.

A special SOS shortcut has been added to the app's SOS section. When you click on it, you are connected to a sign language interpreter who provides communication with SOS rescuers.

This project is an important step in ensuring the safety of deaf Ukrainians. Thanks to it, people with hearing impairments will be able to get help in case of an emergency, even if they only speak sign language.

How it works

To apply for help, you need to follow these steps:

  • Download the free mobile application "SL Translator" from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Open the application and go to the "SOS" section.
  • Click on the SOS label.
  • Connect with a sign language interpreter and report your location and situation.

The sign language interpreter will help you communicate directly with SOS rescuers and provide timely assistance.

This project is important not only for deaf people but also for all residents of Ukraine. It helps to ensure the safety and equality of all people, regardless of their physical abilities.

Please support this project and spread the word among your friends. It may save someone's life.
