The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" is a public association of people with disabilities. For more than 6 years we have taken care of the problems of people with disabilities, in particular, Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. From the beginning of 2021, we have expanded our activities to help people with various forms of disabilities, low mobility groups, the elderly, single people, large and low-income families, and all categories of the population in need of any assistance.
We initiate and implement a large number of programs and projects aimed at ensuring accessibility for people with various forms of disabilities. One of the flagship projects of the team is the National social portal "VILNO!". And the real pride is "Barrier-free Ukraine for the Deaf", because thanks to our efforts in close cooperation with public authorities and local governments, the importance to meet the needs of people with hearing impairments has been recognized at the state level. Gradually, the objects of public space began to be adapted to the needs of the Deaf. The positive experience in creating conditions for ensuring the rights of people with hearing disabilities of the Organization with the Kharkiv city authorities is recognized at the UN level and recommended for implementation around the world.
The experience of the team of Public Movement "Social Unity" was taken as a basis during the development of the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free space in Ukraine.
Since 2019, our projects and programs have been recognized at the state level, and together with the relevant ministries of Ukraine, the team successfully implements large-scale activities at the National level at public expense.
