The non-governmental organization Public Movement “Social Unity” won the competition announced by the Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled and will implement the program “Barrier free Ukraine for the Deaf: Combating Violence Against Hearing Impaired Women”, which was shortly titled #Be_Unbreakable.
The implementation period is until the end of 2021.
Unfortunately, the topic of domestic violence is becoming more acute every year. Some do not realize that they are victims of psychological violence at home, some attach no significance to financial violence by a partner, some still believe that if he beats you, he loves you… However, the family is the center of society, so a healthy and civilized society is possible only when everything is fine in the family, when there is no place for disrespect, physical and other forms of violence. The project is aimed to organize and conduct activities to provide legal and psychological assistance to Deaf and Hard of Hearing women and girls who have become victims of domestic violence in their families.
The following activities are being implemented within the framework of the project #Be_Unbreakable:
-
Development of a step-by-step algorithm of actions in situations that threaten the life and health of Deaf and Hard of Hearing girls and women.
-
Creating a road map that provides comprehensive information on the topic of domestic violence and step-by-step instructions on what to do if you become a victim.
-
Professional training conference with participation of a lawyer and psychologist on the topic "Algorithm of Actions in Cases of Domestic Violence and how to Prevent It."
-
Online conference on the topic "Algorithm of Actions in Cases of Domestic Violence and how to Prevent It."
-
Creating social videos that draw public attention to the existing problem.
The project also implies providing active feedback. So, if you have information on this socially important topic, if you have ideas and suggestions for the project implementation, if you want to join the project as a volunteer, or if you have become a victim of violence, contact us!
