As part of the implementation of the National Strategy for the creation of barrier-free space in Ukraine, the non-governmental organization Public Movement “Social Unity” has developed a portal VILNO! It is a place where people in need unite with those who care and have opportunities. VILNO! is a community of socially responsible people who are not indifferent about what Ukraine will be like.
With the support of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Council of Europe in Ukraine, the first of three planned projects - “Work VILNO!” was launched. This project is a convenient way to connect people with various forms of disabilities who are looking for work with socially responsible employers who are ready to hire and create comfortable working conditions for employees.
The non-governmental organization Public Movement “Social Unity” won the competition announced by the Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled.
The implementation period is until the end of 2021.
This program will provide people with different types of disabilities with information that is available in various formats and takes into account the specificities of perception of people with hearing and visual impairments. The content on the portal is adapted to sign language: a special button is placed next to the text blocks, which launches video in sign language.
The National social portal "VILNO!" was created not only for the social adaptation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people but also to provide substantial social assistance in addressing and ensuring the realization of human rights to health care, housing, work, and access to other social services. Three key projects are being implemented within the portal: "Work VILNO!", "Learn VILNO!", "Move VILNO!" (interactive accessibility map).
Currently, the portal and its capabilities are being actively promoted.
The program "Launch of an Inclusive Online Information Platform Vilno” implies the publication of interesting video content that will be useful to people with various forms of disabilities, as well as active and constant feedback.
