Volunteer call center

Volunteer call center

In connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" has initiated and is implementing several projects, in particular, on February 28, 2022 a volunteer call center was established. This project was developed due to the need to take urgent measures aimed at ensuring the living needs of the civilian population under martial law (especially people with various disabilities and other low mobility groups). Given the numerous requests for help from people with various forms of disabilities in private messages on social networks (official communication channels of the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity", as well as accounts of team members), it was decided to launch a single volunteer call center to accept such appeals and process them for further assistance.

The volunteer call center is equipped with the capability to receive calls from Deaf and Hard of Hearing people with the participation of a sign language interpreter. You can request aid either through a specialized licensed web widget "Ear" on the site, or with the help of the mobile application "Interpreter SL". Reaching a sign language interpreter to call the Volunteer Call Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is free of charge.

In March 2022, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine joined the Volunteer Call Center project and the following tasks are being implemented in cooperation with the team of the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity":

  1. Addressing the food needs, including baby food, drinking water and its delivery to destinations.
  2. Provision of clothing and footwear, basic necessities, hygiene products and their delivery to destinations.
  3. Provision of medicines, including immunobiological drugs (vaccines), medical devices, aids to them, medical equipment and their delivery to destinations.
  4. Evacuation / transport / relocation of civilians from the area of fighting and from dangerous areas to safe places.
  5. Development of the humanitarian centers - delivery of humanitarian goods to Ukraine, unloading, redistribution, transportation of humanitarian goods from the cities of Lviv, Bratslav, Vinnytsia to regions with an urgent need for help.
  6. Organizing the accommodation of citizens who have left their place of residence / stay (displaced persons) in connection with the fighting.

The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" established telephone lines (+38 097 620 06 23, +38 099 082 15 45, +38 093 380 28 15, +38 098 228 77 83) and created a special form for information collection about the urgent needs of the population under martial law. Users fill out the form if they require:

  • humanitarian aid, clothing, footwear, basic necessities, hygiene, medical supplies;
  • evacuations from areas where active fighting is taking place and dangerous areas to safe places;

as well as any other needs caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" takes care of people with various forms of disabilities. During Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, our team provides support to everyone, without exception, who needs help (regardless of whether you are a member of the non-governmental organization).
