NGO Public Movement "Social Unity" continues to implement a large-scale humanitarian mission with the support of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and with the participation of volunteers Olena Kets, Yuriy Melnyk and Ustyna Drul.
We have already said that in March we managed to establish a humanitarian headquarters to help people. Talk about:
- satisfaction of eating needs (food, water, baby meals);
- provision of clothing and footwear, basic necessities, hygiene products;
- medical supplies.
In March, about 30 tons of humanitarian aid was sent to residents of Kyiv, Sumy and Mykolayiv regions.
From March 20 to April 15, with the participation of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the team of the public organization Public Movement "Social Unity" managed to sell another 40 tons of humanitarian aid. It is:
- clothing and footwear for adults and children — nearly 9 tons;
- food — cereals, canned food, long-term storage products, coffee, tea — nearly 9 tons;
- food for children — milk and non-dairy dry mixes, purees (meat, vegetables and fruits), sweets — nearly 8 tons;
- hygiene products (including for children) and household chemicals — nearly 5 tons;
- beverage — water, juices, milk — nearly 5 tons;
- household items — blankets and plaids, pillows, bed linen (nearly 4 tons).
This assistance was received: people with various forms of disability, low-mobility groups, temporarily displaced persons. Humanitarian aid was delivered in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, including settlements liberated from occupation.
"Helping 5,000 families under difficult circumstances and forced to flee hostilities is just the first item of our long to-do list. Looking at things, we understand that many more Ukrainians need help. But thanks to the significant support of Marina Lazebna, who made a lot of efforts and helped this project to exist and help people. I am sure, together we will gain momentum, as the main value of Ukraine has always been people," — said the head of the Public Movement "Social Unity" Eugene Okhrimenko.
"We are seeing now decrease of humanitarian aid from Europe's partners. Nevertheless, people are gradually getting used to the war in Ukraine. With the support of the Ministry of Social Policy, we are able to buy some things coming to Ukraine in much smaller quantities, in particular, medicines, some food. But we proceed to call on our partners to participate in a large-scale humanitarian mission, providing with the Ministry of Social Policy, because we realise that more and more people in need," said Anton Gulidin, Secretary of the Public Movement.
We are working on providing assistance to suffered civilians of martial law.
