A working meeting on the implementation of the principles of accessibility in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine system was held today.
The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the SES for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitization Roman Prymush, and Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Secretary of NGO Public Movement "Social Unity" Anton Gulidin.
First of all, Anton Gulidin spoke about the principles of introducing accessibility in all state structures so that all services guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine, without exceptions and restrictions, could be fully received by all people in time. This is especially true for services closest to people and emergency services. Anton Gulidin spoke about the implementation of the National Barrier-Free Strategy on the example of the activities of the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity".
Currently, the NGO, in cooperation with state ministries and agencies, is introducing advanced technologies for everyone, regardless of physical or other characteristics, to have an opportunity to seek advice or assistance.
"Barrier-free is a requirement of the current time and a sign of a developed civilized society, thus, the future is behind it," said Anton Gulidin.
During the meeting, the ways of implementing the National Strategy for Creating a barrier-free space in Ukraine in the SES system were discussed.
In particular, a detailed analysis of the arrangement of administrative buildings of the SES in perspective of their accessibility for people with various disabilities and other low-mobility groups was conducted, and priority and exemplary facilities were identified.
Emphasis was placed on the need to make SES sites accessible to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and visually impaired people, and on the ability of people with hearing impairments to call emergency services through 101/102 hotlines.
The meeting identified priority steps to ensure accessibility in the SES system.
The barrier-free program will be implemented jointly with the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity", based on its experience in this direction.
By the way, most key ministries and departments of Ukraine are currently partners of NGO, including the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and others, as well as a large number of large industrial companies.
