The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" participated in a large-scale project introduced by Olena Zelenska "The Barrier-Free Handbook". Thanks to the diligent work of translators, the handbook has been adapted into sign language, and an audio description was provided for hearing-impaired Ukrainians who do not speak sign language, and for people with vision loss who have difficulty reading.
The Barrier-Free Handbook sets out the norms of barrier-free language, that does not have a place for discriminatory or stereotypical phrases about different people. This is a handy dictionary that helps you speak correctly and tolerantly towards everyone.
Finding this handbook is easy, and it's even easier to use.

Open any post or enter the word you are interested in in the search box on the site. For example, the word "hearing" is entered.
From the suggested entries, open the one that interests you. For example, choose "A person who is Hard of Hearing, a person who is Deaf". The transition to a detailed description is fulfilled.
Pay attention to the blue circle with the image of the hands near the title. This is a sign language translation and audio description. Clicking on this widget opens a video with the interpreter.
For visually impaired people who have difficulty reading, as well as for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who do not speak sign language, an audio description is provided. Make sure the sound is turned on.
