In cases where time is running and you are waiting for help, it is extremely important not to get confused and to follow the rules of behavior in emergency situations with courage and clarity. This courage comes from knowing how to behave and what to do first to save yourself and the lives of your loved ones.
The ABC of Safety project of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine is doing an excellent job of this.
In cooperation with the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity" and the SES, a series of videos on rules, tips, and recommendations for behavior in various emergency situations was adapted into sign language with the support of Postcode Ukraine. This helps to solve the problem of the lack of access to critical information for people with hearing impairments due to information barriers. By adapting much-needed information on relevant and important topics into Ukrainian sign language and popularizing relevant videos, we reduce the information vacuum in which people with hearing impairments are forced to live.
Postcode Ukraine is a hybrid art and humanitarian aid project that provides direct assistance to Ukrainians most affected by the war. The project supports small charitable organizations and volunteer associations in Ukraine to provide humanitarian aid where it is most needed.
