The team of the NGO Public Movement "Social Unity" has been working with people with disabilities for many years, has extensive experience and significant achievements. Recently, Oleh Chebanenko, the Head of the NGO, and Olga Bartman, a volunteer of the NGO, took part in the IX International Congress on Special Pedagogy and Psychology "Education of Persons with Special Needs in Peace and War" organized by the Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology named after Mykola Yarmachenko of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
At the congress, leading experts in the field highlighted the most pressing issues related to the education and support of people with special needs. The experience of various educational and rehabilitation institutions, as well as public organizations, was presented. They discussed the problems of organizing the educational process in the conditions of war, overcoming the consequences of war for mental health, etc.
Having extensive experience in working with people with hearing impairment, Oleh Chebanenko demonstrated his vision of the problems that exist in the education of children with complete hearing loss and proposed solutions that can be implemented in inclusive education.
The head of the Public Movement "Social Unity" commented on his participation: "Development is a vital thing. After all, there are more challenges facing society every day. Therefore, holding such events to share experiences, raise urgent issues regarding the special and sensitive needs of society makes it possible to cope with the tasks together, look for common solutions and implement them."
