Report on the SL book presentation. July 29. Kyiv

Thanks to the support of Postcode Ukraine, a presentation was held for Ukraine’s first printed children’s book translated into Ukrainian Sign Language.

During the event, author Tasha Torba presented a theatrical reading accompanied by simultaneous translation into Ukrainian sign language and vivid stage sets.

The guests also tried out the QR codes, which bring the story to life in video format with sign language interpretation.

Creative workshops on drawing and decorating gingerbread cookies were held for the children, as well as an autograph session where everyone received a copy of the book with a personal message from the author and a small OMMM as a gift.

The event brought together many families, representatives of government agencies and nonprofit organizations, evoked heartfelt emotions, and drew media attention to the project.

We sincerely thank Postcode Ukraine for supporting the project, Tasha Torba — for her incredible story; the NGO "Public Movement "Social Unity" — for the idea, organization, and implementation; and the “Social Business Center” Citizens' Association Enterprise — for implementing this solution, which makes reading more accessible to children with hearing impairments.
