Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled

The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity" cooperates with the Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled. Within the framework of cooperation, projects of the National level are being implemented with the support of the Fund for Social Protection of the Disabled.

  1. “Barrier free Ukraine for the Deaf: Combating Violence Against Hearing Impaired Women”

    The project aims to organize and conduct events that provide legal and psychological assistance to Deaf or Hard of Hearing women and girls who have become victims of domestic violence. As part of the project, offline and online training conferences on the topic "Algorithm of Actions in Cases of Domestic Violence and how to Prevent It" will be held, where specialized experts - a lawyer and a psychologist - are invited. The project involves not only informing hearing-impaired women about abuse, types of domestic violence, and step-by-step actions to protect themselves but also shooting social videos.

  2. "Launch of an Inclusive Online Information Platform Vilno”

    The National social portal "VILNO!" is based on three key projects: "Work VILNO!", "Learn VILNO!", "Move VILNO!". Each project has specific goals and objectives. "Work VILNO!" was launched jointly with the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. The portal acts as a communication platform where socially responsible employers can find employees with various forms of disabilities and hire them. Project "Learn VILNO!" designed to break down barriers for people with hearing and visual impairments in education. In particular, we are talking about modern educational materials available online. The team of the portal will adapt the content from the partners taking into account the peculiarities of perception of people with hearing impairments, as well as for people with partial or complete loss of vision.

  3. "Barrier free Ukraine for the Deaf: Creating Conditions for Social Adaptation of People with Hearing Impairments"

    The non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity", as part of the project, will provide Deaf and Hard of Hearing users of the mobile application "Translator SL" with 270 minutes for round-the-clock video communication with sign language interpreters of the Center for Social Support of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The mobile application "Translator SL" is designed for individual use of people with hearing loss who need help translating from/into sign language. The interpreter joins the dialogue and translates everything that is said by voice into sign language, and voices everything that is said in sign language by the Deaf person. Interpreters can also make a phone call on behalf of the user of the application to represent their interests.

  4. "Barrier free Ukraine for the Deaf: Monitoring the Accessibility of Socially Important Infrastructure"

    It is a special program for people with disabilities and low-mobility groups on access to the physical environment, transport, information and communication systems, technology, services, etc. Within the framework of the project, the physical monitoring of state and municipal facilities for their accessibility will be conducted by people with disabilities. As a part of the project, all visited institutions, establishments, and organizations will be provided with recommendations on how to remove barriers. All the inspected facilities that are considered barrier-free for people with various forms of disabilities will be placed on a special interactive accessibility map created by the non-governmental organization Public Movement "Social Unity".
