With the support of the Public Movement "Social Unity", in cooperation with the Hear the Doctor project, we continue to introduce important health topics to deaf Lviv residents..
In March, a lecture on "Prevention of Heart Attack and Stroke" was held to raise awareness of the deaf community about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, explaining the main risk factors and a healthy lifestyle. Cardiovascular diseases are a very common problem today for both older people and young people.
The lecture covered the most important topics related to different age groups:
- What is a heart attack and stroke.
- What are their manifestations.
- How to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
- Activity, nutrition, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose control.
- Bad habits.
- Why self-medication is harmful.
- How important it is to consult a specialist in time, correctly identify the problem and prevent complications.
We are grateful to Olena Chernysheva for the translation into sign language. The community of people with hearing impairments got access to information in an accessible form. The topics are very relevant and important.
