To prevent the child from getting lost during the evacuation: instructions SL

Children are of the highest value!

Hurrying to the shelter, an occurrence of a large crowd of people where a child can get lost is almost inevitable.

We have prepared information on how to prevent the child from getting lost during the evacuation to the shelter due to the shelling.

  1. Make sure you dress your child in bright clothes so that you can see your child in a large crowd.

  2. Your child should have a note in their pocket with your contact details. Be sure to write the child's name, parents' names, parents' phone numbers and address. Try to remember this crucial information by heart with your child.

  3. If your child has a smart watch with GPS navigation and a SOS button – teach them to use it and do not turn it off. Make sure the watch is always charged.

  4. Learn the emergency telephone numbers by heart with your child. If the child has a telephone, tell them that they can call the police at 102 at any time.

  5. If your child is Deaf, install the mobile app “Translator SL” on their smartphone. There is a "SOS" button and a "Police" button. Teach your child to use the application. Emergency calls to DSNS services are free and are of the highest priority, sign language interpreters work 24/7 and help the Deaf to call emergency services.

  6. Explain to the child who they can turn to on the street. Explain that in such a difficult time they should not run to any passerby. They need to find a policeman.

  7. Explain that they do not have to run to unfamiliar places or somewhere far away from relatives or acquaintances in any circumstances. It is dangerous.

  8. In free from curfew time, try to explore the route from home to the nearest storage.

  9. Agree on specific actions, a meeting place in case the child gets lost.

Hold your children's hands tightly if you are heading to the shelter!

Keep yourselves safe! Take care of your children!
