The Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine warns against becoming a victim of human trafficking.
Due to the war waged by Russia against Ukraine, many Ukrainians are leaving their homes in search of safe places, including abroad. Being in despair and panic, promptly leaving their hometowns, it is in this state and in such a period that people can often become victims of human trafficking.
Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery and human rights violations for profit through the control and exploitation of others.
How to prevent this:
- do not give anyone the original documents, put copies in different places;
- do not agree to work of a dubious nature;
- do not borrow money from strangers;
- keep in touch with relatives;
- remember emergency telephone numbers (assistance in EU countries - 112).
Humna trafficking can take the form of labor or sexual exploitation, forced begging, organ harvesting, and so on.
Be careful and do not trust dubious offers!
